Principal/Owner.  Focus areas include Supply Chain Optimization, Strategic Sourcing, P-2-/S-2-P, eSourcing/Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system design and implementation.

  • Serving as Interim Director of Supply Chain for a $200M manufacturing company managing over $125M in spend and materials management for electrical panel and enclosure building manufacturing.  As part of the Cost Down team, drove a 5.5-7% reduction in building costs by finding alternative parts, suppliers, and re-negotiating existing contracts; defined the business requirements for the Infor/Syteline upgrade and implementation of WMS system to improve inventory cycle count accuracy, inventory management capabilities, and support ASC 606 accounting.
  • Completed post-merger synergy realization of $40.8M in savings on combined spend of $400M in MRO for an $8B global automotive Tier 1 supplier merger.  Conducted representative plant visits over 2 months in the US, Mexico and Europe to work with sales, operations, production, engineering, general stores, and procurement teams to collect existing contracts, walk the plants to view machines and manufacturing processes, assess inventory levels and available warehousing, understand procurement processes, collect demand planning and production schedules.   Worked closely with corporate planning, sales and plant buyers to develop detailed MRO purchasing forecasts per plant per month.  Developed MRO sourcing strategy, wrote RFPs, conducted negotiations and strategically awarded the MRO sub-categories to suppliers based upon their expertise, ability to meet production schedule requirements and agreement to provide year-over-year cost reduction targets.
  • Developed and co-managed PMO, planning and facilitating North American and European assessment workshops in English and German.Identified, prioritized, and led indirect category sourcing projects for a KKR owned multi-national door manufacturer with implemented indirect category savings of $8.8M in MRO, corrugated door core, angle board, office supplies, temporary labor, and forklifts.
  • Headed global automotive company’s eSourcing and Contract Lifecycle Management projects, embedding strategic sourcing best practices and processes including spend analysis, supplier identification, sourcing strategies, negotiation, contract authoring and implementation. Executed multiple eSourcing events for direct and indirect materials with savings ranging between 10% and 25% on categories including components, MRO, office equipment, pallets and bins.  Increased the number of sourcing events executed by over 60% Year 1 and 100% Year 2.
  • Led engineering and technical services category for California electric and gas utility. Supervised three Accenture consultants and eight client team members and subject matter experts.  Managed spend analysis through implementation with savings of between 10% – 18% for Engineering Services with an estimated $60M in spend.
  • Directed system roadmap and end-to-end design for entire procurement suite of products, including Ariba Spend Visibility, Sourcing, P-2-P, SPIM, and CLM for a global memory and semiconductor company. Identified master reference data and spend category improvements, revised reporting in Ariba Spend Visibility and defined requirements for system integration scenarios to support end-to-end business processes.
  • Guided over twenty six eSourcing and CLM implementations to integrate eSourcing and CLM with SAP ERP. Managed process and system blueprint, design and configuration, requirements gathering (technical, business and reporting), gap analysis, functional specification development, test plan development, training development, and supplier on-boarding, resulting in reduced cycle time, increased savings, and improved contract compliance.  Executed over 75 eSourcing RFPs and Auction events with implemented savings over $100M.

Deloitte Consulting – Strategy and Operations: Strategic Sourcing, M&A – Atlanta, GA

Senior Consultant. Attained progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing, Mergers and Acquisitions and Supply Chain Strategy for both US and multinational clients.

  • Formulated direct material sourcing strategy enabled through Frictionless Commerce E-Sourcing system for a $4.1 billion manufacturing and distribution company.  Created “to-be” sourcing strategy, implemented E-Sourcing tool, executed pilot events, developed training, and performed system go-live.  Expected savings were $28.7 million over 3 years.
  • Managed 6 major strategic sourcing initiatives in various industries including pharmaceutical, cosmetics and consumer package goods.  The savings realized on these projects for the first year ranged from 33% ($8.2 million) to 6% ($0.4 million).
  • Created combined generic drug category management program for the merger of two large pharmaceutical distribution companies resulting in new purchasing processes for the combined company.  Created organization-sizing model based on key effectiveness measures.  Projected organizational savings estimated at 10%.
  • Developed Integration/Separation capability tools and processes for Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing and Quality functions of a multinational healthcare and pharmaceutical company.  Assisted in the development and execution of a two-week merger simulation exercise with 25 client executives.  This project resulted in a repeatable process and an increased working knowledge of Integration/Separation among client executives.
  • Re-engineered logistics processes, designed, and executed “to-be” distribution center operations for a leading manufacturer and distributor of doors and windows.  Increased volume by an estimated 40% to allow consolidation of 2 other warehouses.  Developed models used to facilitate inventory consolidation and product line elimination used to dispose over $250K of excess inventory.

Financial Analyst, Graduate of 2-Year Financial Development Program.  Performed extensive economic modeling and financial analysis during rotations in Financial Planning, Accounting, Contract Compliance, and Government Programs.  First full-time, non-engineer on Business Development Team.

  • Participated on cross-industry advisory board analyzing a telecommunication network protocol cost and pricing strategy; Harris was awarded the contract in 2001.
  • Created financial model to evaluate $2.7 billion FICS-21 project, and developed new pricing strategy, resulting in $27 million savings in interest expense.
